It contains more mini-games than were present in the previous game. The player explores planets in the 'Bogon' Galaxy and undertakes missions. The gameplay of Going Commando is similar to that of the original Ratchet & Clank. Oh well, hopefully it'll get fixed and better optimized sometime before Ridge Racer 20 comes out. Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando is a 2003 3D platformer video game developed by Insomniac Games. As you progress from one alien planet to the next, youll find or purchase over 36 weapons and gadgets including: a wrench, bomb glove, grappling hook, cannon, machine gun and a rocket. For the Graphic Glitch press F9 to go into Software Mode. Game description: Ratchet and Clank team up to save the world from the evil Drek: the leader of a dead planet who drains resources all over the universe. Ratchet and Clank Games are known to be slow as said. RAM: 2x4GB G.Skill RipJaw X 1333mhz DDR3 ram. But now, the game seems to run choppier and the framerate appears to fluctuate somewhere between 40-50fps.and this on an Intel 8600K 5.3Ghz and a 2080Ti!!!! Bizzarre to say the least. well my rig (in sig cept 3.87ghz on cpu) plays all 4 ratchet and clank pretty much full speed with very minor speed hacks at 4x native res like 90 of the time. I remember in much older builds the game would run a rock solid 60fps at 4x Internal res on my old dinosaur PC, with the exception of a few sections of certain tracks. I also want to point out that it's not only the graphical glitches, but the frame rate appears to have gotten worse over the years for Ridge Racer V in PCSX2. I'm guessing it's something with the way the game was coded that they're having a hard time figuring out. I don 't mean to sound harsh, as developing this emulator is a thankless job that we can enjoy the benefits of for free, but I honestly think the devs just don't have what it takes to fix the glitches in this particular game. No one is going to break Tekken for Ridge Racer, even if the only thing that breaks is Tekken 4.Īt this point I don't think Ridge Racer V will ever get fixed. If they never bought RRV, they're not going to regularly test that game.Īnd if they aren't poked and prodded and given ample feedback on something that they don't necessarily care about, they're not going to have incentive to work on it.Īnd it could also be the simple fact that they already know how to fix it, but fixing it ends up breaking the Tekken games, Soul Calibur games, and any other number of Namco games. After all, even emulator developers only have a set amount of copies. If no one is willing to test, provide logs or feedback, they're not going to be able to fix games. The next game in the series has little to no issues that can't be fixed by tweaking some settings based on the emulator wiki, so it could easily be RR5 isn't given priority because RR6 works. Games that will attract attention get focus because they'll attract attention, but the ones that will attract attention generally have a bunch of people who have copies that are willing to test, overlapping with #1.Īnd sports games especially fall into the trap of "the sequel is out, so why pay attention to the original" sort of thing. Popular games tend to work because they're popular a bunch of people have copies and are willing to test, so issues get corrected sooner. Click to shrink. It's true to varying degrees.
